Bob is a passionate and respected educator, continuing a proud legacy of teaching that runs deep in his family's history. For the past 28 years, he has dedicated himself to fostering a lifelong love for learning and self discovery in the public highschool environment.. He is known for his holistic approach to the learning process, emphasizing the interconnectedness of music and nature, and encouraging his students to see the bigger picture in life through metaphors.
By creating a safe place for young people to discover themselves, his “Americana Project” class has been a feather in the district’s cap. 15 years of inspiring young musicians to “sing their song” and gain self confidence and expression through music and performance has led to many memorable moments.
Bob is committed to building community, using his talents and knowledge to create deep connections and bring people together. His enthusiasm and dedication have made him a beloved figure in his small mountain community in Pagosa Springs, CO, inspiring countless young minds to pursue their passions and “sing their song”.
High School Teacher - 1997 to present, taught on the Jicarilla Apache and also Southern Ute Reservation, Alternative High School/Dropout Recovery, Special Education, Elective Classes such as Wilderness Skills, Americana Project, Natural History. Bob has a BS in Biology, Masters in Special Education and English as a Second Language. He is a passionate educator with deep knowledge of ecology, wildlife biology, primitive skills, teenagers, diverse learners and helping those with learning challenges.
